week eight and nine!

These past two weeks have been very busy, we have been told that we are going to put on a show on the 10th of December. During this show we have going to perform a variety of dances which we have been going over and over constantly and will carry on doing so until the show. Not only are we showing of our skills in dance, we are also showing off our skills in costume construction. There is going to be a gallery set up at the back of the hall with all of our work that we have done from September onwards.

This week just gone i missed two days of it as i was ill. We were supposed to be working on our duo's but obviously wasn't able to. So this week and nest week i need to practice more on them as we really dont have much and needs to develop a lot more. The past week we have also been working on our group dances the most, ours is coming on much better than we thought it would. We didn't start to well but its all turned out to be alright. All we need to do now with the group dances is add a little bit more to fill the music out and then just keep going over it.

Most of our lessons in costume construction have been taken up with our mood boards. I have been working very hard on mine to make sure the drawing of my models good enough and all my annotation is done. I have also stuck pieces or writing and pictures of tartan on my mood board. I am on track with all of my work for miss hearne. Here is a picture of my finished mood board below.
Here is a picture of my other mood board which needs to be finished with annotation:

T4 Stars of 2010!

This year on the 21st of November I went to a music concert with a few of my friends. We had to queue for a long time outside in the cold but once we were insde it was all worth it! From being at the back of the queue outsdie we managed to get right to the front inside but it took alot of pushing and shoving to get there.
We got there around 10am but it didnt start until 2:25pm. You might have notcied that it was live on TV at that time aswell.

There were so many famous artists there, about 16. These included Olly Murs, Pixiee Lott, JLS, Jason Derulo, Tinie Tempah, The Wanted, The Saturdays, Alexandra Burke, The Script and many more. Every star was amazing!

Towards the end of it my legs were really aching as we were standing up for so long. It was also very squishy and cramped. So many people were fainting and had to get lifted over the barrier at the front. Lucky none of us fainted.

However apart from that it was an amazing experience and would love to go again if i had the chance! Olly Murs was my faviroute, he was amazing!

Week 7

Performing Arts has been great so far! Every lesson had been very enjoyable and i am learning plenty on new things each time. Even if we aren't doing practical with Miss Dolan i still am able to have fun as well as work hard.

We only had two lessons last week with Miss Dolan. On of then was taken up in an ICT room but the other we done practical. During that practical lesson, we were still working on dv8 but instead of the usual duos, we had to split up in to two groups and work together on another task set up for us. We had a list of what to do in the booklet we all have in our folders. We had to come up with a theme for our dance, we came up with children playing games but we might change that idea now. I am in a group with Chloe Stockman, Chloe Green, Shauna McMillan, Louise Baker and Laura Anne Conner. Chloe G and Shauna M were ill on this lesson so we had to work around them. We are going to have to work extra hard in a number of our lessons now as we are going to be showing a performance on the 10th December of all of our dances.

This was the week where we are with Miss Hearne the most. We had her twice in a row. We are always very busy in these lessons as we need to fit a lot in and so little time. These past few weeks we have been working on the theme 'We Will Rock You'. It is great fun. This week we have been drawing sketches of people and having to then draw the clothes on them. We then had to paint the clothes from our colours that we had chosen. Lastly we had to add little details like tartan on the skirt, darker colours round the edges ect... Miss Hearne's Lessons are also very fun but always very busy.
