Week Eleven and Twelve!

Its nearly our Christmas break and we have been working so hard over the eleven weeks since September the fifth. The first part of our course has been very practical and fun. Before year 10 i never knew about the style of dance DV8 but now i do i think its one of the most creative dances there is. After our Christmas break we are going to be spending several weeks focusing on Jazz, which will be exciting.

On Friday 10th we put on a Christmas performance to 78 people from the audience. We gave them an idea of what we had been working on in the past eleven weeks. Nothing was completely perfect as it was work in progress. Personally i performed four dances all together. I was nervous but excited as well. I got some feedback from my mum saying that i was good but all i need to do now is exaggerate my moves more and be a bit more confident. In my next performance i will try and work on these to points.

We also have been working on all of our costumes and mood boards in Miss Hearnes classes. I have finished all of my rosettes and my mood boards. All i need to do now is finish my skirt that we will be wearing sometime in the future on a performance. All of our work in costume construction over the past eleven weeks has been great successes, therefore we showed of some of it on gallery boards at the back of the hall on the performing arts evening. Every piece of our work went down in great success, which we are very proud of. My mum thought my mood board for tartan and denim was very imaginative and she thought my design on the person was a good idea. She agrees that this is a great course to be doing and that it seems very fun.

This last week of term we have all just been sorting out all of our folders and i made a questionnaire for 3 members of our family and friends that came to watch us on Friday night. Over Christmas i will be making sure i have received all of my evidence and finished of every bit of work there is to be done. I will also be working very hard on the big project that we had been set in September.

Week 10!

Last week was a very busy week. We had 2 lessons with Miss Dolan and 2 with Miss Hearne. Only on lesson with Miss Dolan was practical where we were in TC3 and working on our duos and trio’s. The other lesson was in a computer room where we had a chance to finish of all unfinished work and carry on with our blog.
In costume construction we all had to unfinished work to do each. Most people were making skirts but I decided to make the four rosettes which we will be putting on our skirts for decoration. I also finished of my mood board for tartan and denim. This week I will be starting my skirt as I haven’t yet made it.
Overall the whole performing arts subject has been amazing. I am enjoying ever bit of it.
This Friday we have the performing arts evening coming up. I am look forward to it as well as quite nervous but it will be good. We have chosen to have the evening in a Christmas theme as its getting very close. My mum and maybe my brother are coming to watch me dance and see all of my costume construction work.
